The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) is a popular tool maintained and administered by NCQA to measure performance on important dimensions of care and services. HEDIS consists of 81 measures across 5 domains of care spanning the broad range of important health issues. Health plans report HEDIS data to make informed decisions regarding improvements surrounding their quality of care. The CAHPS 5.0 survey, a survey that measures members’ satisfaction in their care, is also included in the HEDIS.
