“Great product, great knowledge, great culture, resulting in a great relationship and a great outcome.”
-Jeremy Schrimsher, Administrator at Southlake Orthopaedics
Alabama-based orthopaedic practice experiences exceptional MIPS score increase due to ReportingMD’s quality analytics
Southlake Orthopaedics Sports Medicine & Spine Center, PC is an orthopaedics practice based out of Birmingham, Alabama, and is immensely proud of their status as an independent practice of fifteen physicians. As an independent practice, it is challenging to stay current with constantly changing regulatory initiatives in addition to the daily challenges of running a practice. Although immensely skilled, these individuals find additional support helpful in implementing a strong quality reporting program.
Southlake sought out to develop a concrete MIPS strategy. In the year before partnering with ReportingMD, Southlake experienced lower than desired MIPS scores, resulting in penalties for the organization. They quickly realized that if they did not make adjustments, there would be cuts in their reimbursement were inevitable (upwards of 7.7%). This prompted the organization to find a partnership would further complement their already stellar team.
After uniting with ReportingMD, Southlake Orthopaedics saw their scores shoot up into the high 80s in 2022. Hopefully, final feedback expected in August of 2023 will show a score that catapults them into the “Exceptional Bonus Range.” Without the regulatory knowledge that ReportingMD has brought to the table and the collaboration between the teams at Southlake and ReportingMD, Southlake would not have been able to make these vast improvements in their system.
A winning Team: Southlake found the guidance and leadership they needed in ReportingMD
In search of a solution, Southlake Orthopaedics took a referral from a reputable consultant who was assisting with their revenue cycle management and other initiatives and in doing so discovered that ReportingMD did great work for their clients. After speaking with key players at ReportingMD, including Molly Minehan (Vice President of Operations & Innovation) and Shaun Priest (Chief Revenue Officer) it became clear that ReportingMD was not only extremely knowledgeable but was very much on top of what the most current strategies were when it came to MIPS management.
Specifically, Molly Minehan became, as Administrator Jeremy Schrimsher put it, an “offensive coordinator,” by calling the plays for Southlake and giving them a strategy so that they could go “out and play when they not only did not know the rules of the game but have a strategy for how to win.” By providing the education to make success a realty, answering questions and providing continuous guidance along the way, ReportingMD was able to prove their immense value by ultimately providing that game winning strategy for Southlake Orthopaedics.
Today and the future: The innerworkings of ReportingMD make it the easy choice for users.
What makes ReportingMD the winning choice exactly? From a user perspective, ReportingMD’s interface is “easy to navigate through and find reports, making it a very user-friendly tool.” The charts and graphs that come along with the provided tools make viewing an organization’s analytics easy and transparent along with the constant presence of ReportingMD’s team of Dedicated Advisors.
Now with a better understanding of the rules and regulations, Southlake has made changes to their clinical workflow stages to better capture that data more appropriately, particularly at the time of service. Now Southlake can continue to build on this momentum to allow themselves to remain sustainable in the future.
“We love your team of people. Everyone is so easy to work with and patient with us as we pulled our hair out on some of these calls. It is very appreciated: the patience, the knowledge, the confidence, and overall, the spirit of everyone. We always have felt that everyone at ReportingMD is here to help and that makes us feel extremely comfortable and never rushed.”
-Jeremy Schrimsher, Administrator at Southlake Orthopaedics
